The Good Doctor

‘The Good Doctor’ follows the life of Shawn Murphy, a young autistic doctor and aspiring surgeon who is just beginning his career at a surgical unit of a hospital. He faces many obstacles such as his co workers not taking him seriously despite his high intelligence. The series that was originally based on a South Korean medical drama series pulls at your heartstrings, with both the doctors and the patients storylines. To add to this, Freddy Highmore does an incredible job of portraying the character of Shawn. It's such a complex role to play, a young man with autism, savant syndrome and a tragic past, his acting alone is a reason to watch the series.


Desperate Housewives

A series about 4 housewives all going through their own ups and downs behind closed doors. They all live on Wisteria lane, a seemingly perfect American neighbourhood. However everything is not as perfect as it seems as the four main characters Gabrielle, Susan, Bree and Lynette all have their own secrets including affairs, money issues, murders and crimes. As dramatic as it sounds, the show has many comedic aspects to it. If you’re a fan of a mixture of drama, comedy and all thing to do with being a housewife, this is the show for you. Also with 8 seasons, the drama never ends.


The Walking Dead

Zombie apocalypse films have been popular for a long time, recently zombie apocalypse series have become just as popular. One of the most successful ones being ‘The Walking Dead’, the horror follows various survivors adapting to the apocalyptic world. One of the most gripping parts of the show is the shock element, the show takes you through twists and turns you just wouldn’t expect. With a range of characters, there’s someone for every viewer to relate to and root for. If you’re a lover of the zombie apocalypse world, this is the show for you, however, be prepared for all the goriness that comes with the genre


Criminal Minds

One of the best shows to watch for all the crime fanatics, with 15 seasons, ’Criminal Minds’ follows a group of profilers taking on a different criminal each episode. With a huge focus on the crimes the shows beautifully involves the profilers personal lives but it's a great balance between the two. The show dives deep into the behavioural analysis of serial killers but and leaves you on the edge of your seat every episode. If you’re interested in the crime world, even though the show isn’t based off real criminals its very accurate and there are a range of crimes/criminals the series dives into.


Modern Family

‘Modern Family’ is a sitcom that follows three families in California all going through their own obstacles as a family, you see the bond between the family get stronger and stronger throughout the show. It's a hilarious, feel good series that will have you laughing out loud, the actors are incredible and the script works perfectly for a family show. With the storyline following the lives of the parents, teens and kids, all with completely different personalities and goals, theres a character for everyone to relate to.


Lucifer

The 2016 mystery drama follows the life of Lucifer, the devil, who comes back from hell to live in LA and runs his own night club. He gets tied up in a murder investigation and becomes romantically involved with a detective. The show keeps you on edge throughout and you can never watch one episode, you’ll always want to watch one more! It’s one of those shows that’s very unique and new and exciting for the audience. Tom Ellis who plays Lucifer does a brilliant job with the character, you have a love/hate relationship with the character but you’re also able to relate to him.


Mr Robot

‘Mr. Robot’ is about a cyber engineer who suffers from anxiety and Mr Robot (a cryptic anarchist) recruits him to ruin his company. The show is must watch not only for the incredible storyline and mind boggling twists but the cinematography and music on the show is marvellous. In a very unique way the show looks at how today’s society and technology impacts our social interactions or lack thereof. The series takes you on an emotional roller coaster and you’ll go from covering your eyes to not being able to take your eyes off the screen.


The Purge

If you’re a fan of the ‘The Purge’ films, the series is a must watch. The series takes a deeper look into the purge world and its a great watch if you have or haven’t seen the films. If you haven’t, the series is full of suspense. There’s a mixture of mystery, drama and horror. The intensity and suspense built up in the show leaves you wanting more after every episode and you won’t be disappointed. The show has an amazing dystopian vibe to it and the characters are very likeable, you’ll find yourself really rooting for them.
